Roland Heat Transfer Vinyl

HTV or "heat transfer vinyl" normally just refers to how it's applied to a substrate – like the fabric in a t-shirt for example. It requires a heat press to apply both heat and pressure to activate the adhesive enough to bond with the material.

The Roland printer actually uses "printable htv" or "printable vinyl". Standard vinyl cutters use single, pre-colored htv while the Roland prints on blank, white-looking material to MAKE the colors.
